This project proposes the design of a new school that would span the London Street Canal. The goal of designing a school as a “bridge” is to symbolically and literally link neighborhoods on both sides of the canal and to connect students to those communities. The building incorporates not only spaces for the school's use, but also spaces for the use of the general public, as well as areas where students and the larger community interact. The new school then becomes a focal point in celebrating community life on both sides of the London Street Canal and the rebuilding of the damaged city.
