Providing an elevated transit station and commercial center at the Industrial Canal and N. St. Claude, this project celebrates the insertion of a new transportation network within a flooded neighborhood. The proposed metropolitan light rail system, an important aspect of post-Katrina recovery planning, responds to analyses of vehicular activity and potential demand for access to public transportation. On the ground floor of the commercial center are shops and a theatre; on the second tier is the light rail station and the circulation core. A third floor contains rooftop restaurants and bars.
