| description |
|
When Hurricane Katrina came upon the shores of America’s Gulf Coast, it left a path of destruction which will take years to repair.
Students of Second year were asked to design a mobile home prototype for these new, temporary communities along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Region. The “mobile home” is a truly American invention associated with the American love of mobility and travel.
The mobile homes were designed to fit in as well and as gracefully as the shotguns, double shotguns and camelback typologies of the Gulf Coast Region.
The homes provide a sustainable and environmentally sound alternative to existing transitional and temporary housing options using existing and innovative materials and methods of construction.
